The CSE master's program is designed for students aiming to deepen their expertise in specific computer science and engineering disciplines. Earning this degree requires just 30 credit hours of study, typically completed within 1-2 years, and offers substantial career advancement and salary benefits. While optional, students may choose to complete a thesis. Both the MS (Master of Science) and MSE (Master of Science in Engineering) share identical requirements, differing only in title. Engineering undergraduates can select either degree, while non-engineering graduates qualify only for the MS. The program allows transfer of a limited number of external graduate credits, and may accept equivalent external courses to fulfill requirements without reducing the total credit hour obligation.
