Learners conceive, develop, evaluate, and implement physical computing systems that engage with both tangible and social surroundings. They explore robotics and its societal role, integrating knowledge from diverse engineering disciplines such as software development, mechanical design, machine learning, visual computing, circuit engineering, automation technologies, human-machine interfaces, and medical engineering. Pupils assimilate insights from these areas and utilize them to construct robotic devices and associated technologies.
An engineering background is recommended but not required for the Robotics Program, although we have found that the lack of an engineering background puts students at a disadvantage as they begin their graduate studies.
