The Movement Science (MVS) program equips students for various healthcare careers, including medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, rehabilitation, and biomedical research. Through a combination of academic courses, lab research, and practical experiences, students explore the mechanics, control, and physiology of human motion. The MVS program highlights three key areas: Biomechanics uses mechanical principles to analyze human movement, providing excellent groundwork for advanced studies in prosthetics, ergonomics, rehabilitation medicine, or physical therapy. Exercise Physiology investigates metabolic, cardiovascular, and hormonal changes during physical activity, preparing graduates for healthcare roles or further education in biomedical research and therapy fields. Motor Control studies how neural processes and cognitive factors influence movement learning and coordination throughout life, with applications in therapeutic professions and other medical specialties.
