Students completing the undergraduate Secondary Certification Program emerge as skilled, compassionate, and thoughtful educators qualified to instruct grades 6-12 in their selected subject areas. The program combines rigorous coursework, professional training, and hands-on classroom experience, equipping graduates with both teaching methodologies and specialized content expertise to effectively educate diverse middle and high school students. Participants develop practical skills for integrating technology into modern educational settings. Upon graduation, students receive a bachelor's degree from the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters along with the College of Education, Health, and Human Services' endorsement for the Michigan Secondary Standard Certificate, which includes their primary teaching focus and potential additional subject area specializations.
