Creating, constructing, managing, and interpreting data from devices that investigate Earth's and other planetary space environments. Our research focuses on planetary atmospheres, solar wind interactions with celestial bodies, and the cosmic surroundings of solar system objects. Beyond mere observation, we develop specialized equipment to gather crucial data for analysis, enhancing our comprehension of these extraterrestrial phenomena. We journey across the cosmos to decipher the secrets of our solar system's planets and distant stars visible in our night sky. Alumni from the Space Science and Engineering program are equipped to either advance to graduate studies in space sciences or enter the space sector, which currently experiences significant staffing gaps. Career opportunities also include positions at government space agencies and national research facilities specializing in space-related fields.
