Students completing the undergraduate Secondary Certification Program emerge as skilled, compassionate, and thoughtful educators qualified to instruct grades 6-12 in their selected subject areas. The program combines rigorous coursework, professional training, and hands-on classroom practice. Graduates develop both teaching methodologies and subject-matter expertise, equipping them to effectively educate diverse student populations in secondary education settings. Participants acquire practical experience integrating modern technology into contemporary learning environments. Upon finishing the program, students receive their bachelor's degree from the College of Arts, Sciences, and Letters along with the College of Education, Health, and Human Services' endorsement for the Michigan Secondary Standard Certificate, including authorization in their primary teaching field and potential additional subject areas.
