The Bachelor of Science in Applied Exercise Science offers a customizable curriculum with science-intensive courses and hands-on learning experiences through two specialized pathways: The Management Track targets business-focused careers, while the Clinical Track readies students for patient-facing roles in healthcare and research. This program suits students passionate about evaluating and enhancing physical activity across all age groups. AES students collaborate with athletes, patients, clients, and healthcare experts (including physicians and dietitians). Many complement their studies with minors or graduate degrees in public health, business, or entrepreneurship. The curriculum explores physical activity through biological, psychological, social, business, clinical, and research lenses, teaching students to evaluate and encourage movement using both preventive and rehabilitative approaches throughout life.
Applied Exercise Science students tailor their education through demanding scientific coursework and practical experiences in either the Management Track - preparing for corporate wellness, entrepreneurship, or leadership roles - or the Clinical Track - developing skills for careers as exercise physiologists, fitness specialists, strength coaches, or research scientists.
