Mastering reading, writing, and communication skills can be truly transformative. Are you passionate about guiding children as they develop these essential abilities? Our Language Arts bachelor's program equips you to inspire and educate young learners in diverse classroom settings. Combine your coursework with elementary teaching certification to qualify for teaching all subjects in K-5 classrooms, or pursue middle school language arts certification for grades 6-8 by fulfilling endorsement requirements. This comprehensive program blends academic rigor with professional preparation, including multiple hands-on experiences in local schools. Graduates receive both a bachelor's degree and a recommendation for Michigan's Elementary Standard Certificate. Note: The Michigan Department of Education has recently restructured teacher certification into six grade bands. Our college has submitted program proposals for Birth-Kindergarten (BK), Pre-K through 3rd grade (Pre-K3), and Grades 3-6 programs to the MDE for approval.
