A degree in Hispanic studies unlocks diverse career pathways. Graduates can explore opportunities in sales and marketing, business administration, global commerce, hospitality and tourism, diplomatic relations, bilingual instruction, language translation, medical or legal interpretation, immigrant support services, border security, and media communications, among other fields. With over 400 million native speakers, Spanish stands as one of the world's most significant languages in our interconnected global society.

In our 21st century reality, globalization makes Spanish language skills increasingly essential. Studying Spanish language and culture offers practical advantages. Considering the growing Hispanic population in the U.S. and our close ties with Latin American nations, Spanish proficiency provides professional benefits across multiple industries, often becoming a job requirement.

Our Spanish department faculty understand the importance of comprehensive education. Accordingly, the Hispanic Studies Bachelor of Arts program features three distinct majors plus a minor option. The major tracks include:
Hispanic Studies
International Studies with Spanish focus (see International Studies)
Integrative Studies - Hispanic Studies as one of three focus areas
