Students examine communication's significance and investigate its theories in personal and professional contexts. The SoC Communication Studies curriculum combines practical research with theoretical foundations, enabling students to enhance their understanding of human interaction across personal, cultural, and organizational environments. Professors are recognized experts who hold leadership positions in top communication associations and work together with students and colleagues to continually advance the field. Classes cover subjects like Interpersonal Dynamics, Nonverbal Cues, and Analytical Reasoning. A key focus is the growing area of health communication, developed through partnerships with the UM School of Medicine and other university facilities.
