The Department of Biomedical Engineering provides an accredited program that leads to Bachelor of Science degrees in Biomedical Engineering (BSBE). This interdisciplinary program applies engineering principles and technologies to address challenges in biology, life sciences, medicine, and biotechnology. It encompasses a diverse range of activities, such as creating artificial organs and prosthetics, developing implantable medical devices, advancing tissue engineering, designing biomedical instruments, utilizing computing for medical research and diagnostics, processing signals and images, and specializing in clinical, rehabilitation, cardiovascular, neurological, and respiratory engineering. The Biomedical Engineering program holds accreditation from the Engineering Accreditation Commission of ABET, accessible at http://www.abet.org.
