The University of Miami's Biology Department provides undergraduate programs at the forefront of scientific discovery, shaping future researchers and informed individuals who grasp contemporary biology's breadth and significance. Our curriculum thoroughly prepares students for graduate studies in science, healthcare professions, legal fields, policy-making roles, and engaged citizenship in our technology-driven world. Degree options include Bachelor of Science (B.S.), Bachelor of Arts (B.A.), a Biology minor, and an accelerated five-year B.S./M.S. program. Detailed requirements and course information can be found in the Academic Bulletin.
Through the Biology Honors program, students can conduct independent research in their chosen specialization under faculty mentorship. Participants engage in honors seminars to present and discuss their findings with peers. Applications for the Honors program must be submitted during fall semester for spring graduation consideration.
