The Frost School of Music's Brass Department blends time-honored traditions with cutting-edge approaches. Across all degree programs, students receive rigorous training through both classical conservatory methods and contemporary techniques that reflect today's evolving music landscape. Distinguished faculty members, celebrated worldwide, provide instruction for each instrument.
Typical studio sizes per instrument are:
Trumpet 15,

Students participate in various ensembles while exploring diverse musical genres, building comprehensive skills for professional success.
Weekly studio classes complement a performance forum where students both play and analyze musical presentation. The specialized Peak Performance course addresses everything from practice techniques to managing stage anxiety. Professors Conner and Tindall additionally lead a new orchestral repertoire class focused on low brass instruments.
