The History MA program offers adaptable coursework designed to equip students for diverse career paths. Full-time students typically finish the degree within two academic years. Those pursuing the MA as their final degree usually opt to complete 33 credit hours of coursework instead of writing a thesis. Graduates often secure teaching roles in secondary schools and community colleges, while others enter various government positions or specialized roles in business, industry, and media. Students aiming for university-level teaching or research-oriented careers should view the MA as foundational for doctoral studies, making thesis completion advisable.
