Faculty members in this field share a unified mission: to deepen knowledge about how biological factors shape behavior and cognitive processes. To achieve this, we employ diverse techniques such as animal behavior experiments, neurochemical and electrophysiological measurements (both in living organisms and lab settings), and psychopharmacological approaches. Key research focuses encompass addiction neurobiology, behavioral genetics, neural mechanisms behind memory (both spatial and non-spatial), cognitive control, and drive. The Experimental Psychology Program trains students in Behavioral Neuroscience, with the core aim of equipping graduates for research-focused academic careers. The curriculum mandates neuropsychology and psychopharmacology coursework alongside standard Experimental Psychology requirements. Additionally, students are expected to contribute to active research projects starting their first year while simultaneously designing their own studies under faculty guidance.
