The University of Memphis' Spanish program provides diverse undergraduate and graduate courses covering medieval to contemporary literature, Hispanic linguistics, and more.
Our Spanish faculty includes experts across key disciplines of Hispanic Studies, spanning literature, linguistics, language teaching methods, community involvement, film studies, and cultural studies.
The Department of World Languages and Literatures teaches multiple languages: Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. Thirty dedicated faculty members conduct research, teach, and serve the academic community.
Students can pursue a bachelor's in World Languages with specializations in Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, or Spanish, plus options in Arabic, Korean, Latin, Portuguese, and Russian. The MA in Romance Languages offers French or Spanish tracks, with coursework in literature, linguistics, cultural studies, and specialized language applications.
