The Department of World Languages and Literatures teaches multiple languages: Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Latin, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish. Thirty dedicated faculty members focus on research, teaching, and service.
Students can pursue a bachelor's degree in World Languages with specializations in Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, or Spanish. Arabic, Korean, Latin, Portuguese, and Russian are also available. The MA in Romance Languages offers French or Spanish concentrations, with courses in literature, linguistics, civilization, and specialized language studies.
