Our graduate studies include a Master of Science in Accounting program. Like all Manning School of Business offerings, this degree holds accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the leading authority for business education accreditation globally. This recognition demonstrates UMass Lowell's, the Manning School's, and the Accounting Department's dedication to maintaining exceptional standards and ongoing program enhancement.
The Massachusetts Board of Public Accountancy recognizes our Master of Science in Accounting as a Level 1 program, meeting AACSB equivalency standards. Graduates from Level 1 programs automatically qualify for CPA exam eligibility, while those from non-Level 1 programs must prove they meet educational prerequisites.
This MSA program equips graduates to thrive in a demanding professional landscape, where accounting professionals remain highly sought after by diverse sectors including public accounting firms, financial institutions, corporations, government bodies, and nonprofit organizations.
Offered both full-time and part-time with complete online accessibility, the MSA provides options in General Accounting, Business Analytics, Corporate Accounting Leadership, or International Business. Full-time students can typically finish the 30-credit, 10-course program in one year (fall, spring, and summer terms), while part-time students generally complete it within approximately three years.
