The Department of Biomedical Engineering provides a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (B.S.E.) in Biomedical Engineering. This program integrates courses typically associated with healthcare (biology, anatomy and physiology, biomechanics) and business disciplines (economics, statistics, entrepreneurship) while upholding the demanding standards of conventional engineering education (statics, dynamics, circuit design, etc.). In their final year, students engage in a year-long capstone research project spanning two semesters. To acquire practical experience prior to graduation, students are advised to take part in an internship and/or the professional cooperative education program.
The department provides undergraduate students with the option to pursue further studies through a combined Bachelor's/Master's program. Students maintaining a minimum 3.000 cumulative GPA can apply to the master's program through an expedited admissions procedure.
