Nestled in a historically rich city, UMass Lowell's History Department combines the intimate atmosphere of a small program with the extensive resources of a major research institution. Our curriculum focuses on developing your ability to analyze and write about history with a critical perspective. The 39-credit program (13 courses) includes foundational surveys in world and U.S. history, along with specialized offerings in European, American, and global/comparative studies.
Students can enhance their skills through two dedicated methodology and research seminars. Qualified undergraduates may enroll in graduate-level history courses or other disciplines with faculty approval.
