Educators in Massachusetts must obtain their Professional License after completing five years of teaching in public schools. This advanced certification enhances subject matter expertise and improves instructional methods. Our MAT-Professional Licensure program blends five specialized teaching methodology courses with five subject-focused classes, offering the option to pursue additional credentials in Special Education or ESL. For those holding a master's degree, we provide pathways to upgrade your teaching certification. Our curriculum delivers the necessary subject-specific coursework for Professional Licensure eligibility. Candidates qualify for professional licensure if they: possess an Initial license from another accredited institution, earned an Initial license via a district-sponsored program, or maintain the same teaching field and grade level as their Initial License.
