A bachelor's degree in Public Administration from UMassD equips students for careers in government at municipal, state, or national levels. Our program develops graduates with the analytical abilities, problem-solving skills, and written communication expertise needed for public service roles. The BA track emphasizes verbal and written communication competencies for human services contexts, while the BS program builds stronger quantitative analysis capabilities for financial management positions. Public Administration students will gain the ability to: comprehend fundamental theories and research in the field, conduct and interpret research studies, analyze professional and public discourse on government issues, construct and evaluate arguments, weigh evidentiary support, produce compelling written work, and effectively structure presentations or papers.
