Psychology encompasses a vibrant and multifaceted discipline. Fundamentally, it involves the systematic study of human behavior. UMASS Dartmouth professors investigate a wide spectrum of subjects, ranging from abstract concepts like brain hemisphere specialization and memory's semantic processing to practical applications including obesity management, chronic pain relief, and stress reduction. Additional faculty apply scientific insights to mental health practice, serving as prominent figures in southeastern Massachusetts' mental health sector while integrating this knowledge into their teaching. The Psychology Department provides an undergraduate degree, a Master's program with clinical, behavioral analysis, and general/research tracks, along with a combined BA/MA option.
