This program was established in response to significant industry demand for skilled database professionals. Graduates can explore diverse career paths, from application development to database administration roles. The curriculum addresses the growing need for expertise in modern tools, enabling participants to enhance their technical capabilities.
Participants should possess programming experience. All courses are scheduled during evening hours to accommodate working professionals.
The 12-credit program (4 courses) includes a core sequence: CS630 (Database Management Systems), CS615 (User Interface Design), and CS634 (Database System Architecture). This foundation covers relational/object-relational databases, SQL, indexing, transaction management, and database interface design. Students complete their certificate with one advanced elective (CS636 or CS637) tailored to their career goals.
