This initiative provides students with chances to explore early childhood education from infancy through age eight while gaining hands-on experience in childcare and classroom leadership. Our alumni enter the workforce ready to support children and families in urban, diverse, and inclusive environments immediately after completing the program. Participants benefit from mentorship by experienced professionals while developing essential skills for an educational career.
Through this program, you will:
Gain comprehensive knowledge of child development theories, teaching methodologies, and research-backed strategies that enhance learning for young children in inclusive environments
Develop expertise in designing welcoming, culturally aware educational spaces that nurture every child's social, emotional, intellectual, and physical development, regardless of abilities or cultural background
Build strong communication, teamwork, and advocacy capabilities to effectively partner with families, fellow educators, and community organizations, championing children's welfare and supporting fair, inclusive early learning policies
Career Opportunities
Educate and support young learners in inclusive early education environments including public/private preschools, Head Start initiatives, or daycare facilities. Collaborate with teaching professionals and families to provide specialized assistance for children with varying needs. Alternatively, participate in policy development to advance equitable early education standards. These represent just some of the potential career paths.
