This program is designed exclusively for non-matriculated students pursuing a one-year graduate performance certificate. Participation in this program does not grant academic credit.
The Professional Performance Certificate (PPC), offered by the Department of Music & Dance via University Without Walls, provides emerging musicians with private lessons from UMass faculty and opportunities to join various departmental ensembles. The certificate program aims to deliver an intensive year of artistic growth, career development, and practical experience for budding professional musicians.

Qualification Requirements
Applicants must have an undergraduate degree in music or demonstrated equivalent musical training.
Audition: After your application form is received, the Department will contact you to arrange an audition. A live audition is strongly recommended, but for foreign students and other applicants who are unable to visit campus, a DVD is acceptable.
Supporting Materials: Other supporting materials will include evidence of prior musical education (bachelor's degree or equivalent -- photocopies of diplomas are acceptable) and three letters of recommendation.
