Students can select either the MS in Environmental Engineering or the MS in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Environmental and Water Resources Engineering. The Environmental Engineering MS maintains stronger ties to the program's process engineering foundations, necessitating at least one graduate-level course in this field. The Civil Engineering MS is better suited for students who wish to avoid process engineering coursework.
Both MS programs enable students to investigate subjects like water resources, climate change, environmental microbiology, and biotechnology. Participants gain access to state-of-the-art facilities, extensive advanced equipment, and guidance from distinguished faculty members.
Alongside the standard 2-year research track, the program provides a 1-year course-based alternative. The research path is generally chosen by students receiving funding through research or teaching assistantships. The coursework alternative is structured for completion within 9-12 months. Those opting for this route may qualify for limited financial aid.
