The Chemical Engineering department at UMass-Amherst is thrilled to introduce a new research-focused Master's Degree program. This rigorous curriculum combines specialized electives, advanced classes, and thesis research under faculty guidance. While tailored to each student's goals, most coursework is designed to finish in the initial year, enabling concentrated research that prepares graduates for industrial R&D roles or further academic pursuits. Presently, MS candidates cover all program expenses. Students earn their degree after successfully defending a thesis, with guaranteed completion of all financial obligations by May of their second year.
