The Animal Biotechnology & Biomedical Sciences (ABBS) program delivers advanced graduate-level education through the Department of Veterinary & Animal Sciences, adhering to the Graduate School's standards for both MS and PhD degrees.

The ABBS graduate program cultivates research excellence, technical proficiency, independent thinking, and specialized knowledge in molecular and cellular biology. Faculty research spans immunology, infectious diseases, developmental biology, reproductive science, and toxicology, addressing challenges pertinent to both human health and agricultural animals. Qualification Requirements

Applicants must include a completed online application form and two letters of recommendation. The Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is optional. International students who are not from an English-speaking country (i.e., one whose national language is English) must also take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) and score at least 550 (paper-based test) or 80 (computer-based test). This includes students from non-English speaking countries even though their degrees may have been awarded in English.

Please submit your current transcripts from all colleges/universities attended, undergraduate and graduate, where nine (9) or more credits were earned. Current or final unofficial transcripts uploaded to the Academic History section of your application are acceptable for the initial application review.
Bachelor's degree: Prior to their anticipated start date, applicants must complete a bachelor's degree from a U.S. college or university accredited by a regional accrediting association, or complete an international degree that is equivalent to a U.S. bachelor's degree from a college or university recognized and approved by the Ministry of Education or commission responsible for higher education in the country where the degree is earned.
