The JD/MRP dual degree is a four-year program combining legal studies (JD) with regional planning (MRP), offered in partnership with Western New England University's School of Law. This integrated curriculum delivers a more comprehensive professional education than either discipline could provide separately, covering all aspects of planning and law - from physical and environmental to social, cultural, economic, legal, and political dimensions.
When you graduate with the JD/MRP dual degree, you'll gain:
Two professional degrees in just four years instead of the typical five
Certification in both legal and planning professions
Specialized practice expertise
Professional connections across both fields
Diverse career opportunities in public and private organizations
Upon completion, you'll be prepared for careers that bridge law and planning, such as municipal counsel, legislative committee staff, economic development leaders, planning department heads, consulting planners, and land-use advisors for private clients.
