An intellectually dynamic environment thrives through collaborative research groups and department-wide activities. Both faculty and graduate students contribute to our brown bag series, presenting ongoing projects as well as completed work. Our specialized research clusters include: Gender, Sexuality, and Families; Race, Immigration, and Citizenship; Culture, Identity, and Social Psychology; Crime, Law, and Deviance; Politics, Movements, & Global and Transnational Sociology; Labor, Work, and Organizations; Social Networks; and Social Demography. Our colloquium series features visiting scholars nationwide who share their findings, sparking engaging dialogues.
