Isenberg's PhD in Finance is an intensive yet collaborative full-time program designed to equip students for academic and professional careers. Participants will expand their knowledge of financial theory and empirical finance while pursuing original research aligned with their interests. Through close mentorship with faculty, students will produce publishable research for top-tier academic journals. The program also includes teaching opportunities at Isenberg to develop instructional skills.
Typically completed in four years, the PhD requires 45 credits of coursework covering theoretical foundations, research methodologies, electives, and minor subjects. Candidates must successfully complete core and comprehensive exams, along with two summer research papers. The final phase focuses on dissertation research, writing, defense, and teaching responsibilities at Isenberg.
