The CFT Master's program aims to develop skilled, proficient therapists for clinical work and progress in marriage and family therapy. It focuses on cultivating practitioners with exceptional therapeutic abilities, strong ethical principles, academic inquisitiveness, and a genuine dedication to serving diverse family backgrounds. The M.S. in Couple and Family Therapy (CFT) offers the academic curriculum and hands-on clinical experience usually needed for Marriage and Family Therapy licensure across various states. This program holds accreditation from the AAMFT's Commission on Accreditation for Marriage and Family Therapy Education. Students pursuing the Couple and Family Therapy M.S. must complete 48 credits without a thesis or 51 credits with a thesis. The entire program, including the mandatory two-year internship, typically spans two years.
