The Master of Science in Applied Economics program (ECAM) offered on campus is a professional graduate degree focused on advancing the careers of practicing economists. This program specifically targets students seeking analyst roles in government, private sector companies, and NGOs rather than preparing them for doctoral studies. ECAM features evening classes held in person at the College Park campus, following a semester schedule. Full-time students typically complete the program in four semesters. While sharing the same curriculum as the ECAO program, ECAM differs in its location and academic calendar - ECAO operates off-campus in Washington, DC using a quarter-term system instead of semesters.

Qualification Requirements
Applicants must have earned a four-year baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution, or an equivalent degree from a non-U.S. institution.
Applicants must have earned a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) in their prior undergraduate and graduate coursework.
Applicants do not need to have majored in economics as undergraduates, but they must provide evidence (via transcript) of having earned grades of B or higher in three introductory courses: Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Calculus. AP scores of 4 or 5 are also acceptable.
