The Master of Public Policy (MPP) is a two-year professional program that equips students with the analytical abilities, specialized knowledge, and professional connections needed to tackle complex policy issues. The MPP program structure includes two key elements: a 27-credit core curriculum covering governance fundamentals, quantitative methods, and policy implementation, plus elective courses for focused study in specific interest areas. Students can apply their elective credits toward one or two concentrations or explore broader policy topics. Available specializations range from environmental and energy policy to international affairs, leadership, nonprofit management, public finance, and social sectors like health and education, with an option for custom-designed focus areas. Graduation requires completing 48 credits. Develop expertise in policy formulation and governance while building the analytical framework and hands-on experience needed to address critical societal issues.
The International Development (IDEV) Policy concentration examines development through economic, political, demographic, health, and ethical lenses. Coursework addresses critical challenges including economic underperformance, poverty, wellbeing deficits, food scarcity, political oppression, sectarian tensions, migration crises, and public health concerns. Participants gain methodological tools to assess development obstacles and rigorously evaluate policy interventions.
