Our department provides a Bachelor of Arts program featuring studies in painting, sculpture, digital media, printmaking, art theory, and graphic design. Students begin with a rigorous foundations curriculum emphasizing core principles of composition in both 2D and 3D formats. After completing these introductory courses, learners are urged to explore diverse media options within the department. The program fosters the development of a distinctive artistic perspective grounded in contemporary art criticism and mastery of technical skills essential for creating impactful modern artwork.
Participants also gain access to enriching opportunities like internships and hands-on experience at the Herman Maril Gallery, our student-operated exhibition space. They can further engage by curating shows featuring peer creations.
Sculpture students benefit from cutting-edge studio spaces designed for multiple mediums, including specialized zones for wood, stone, and metalwork. Beyond the expansive 9,000-square-foot indoor facility, a 15,000-square-foot outdoor workspace features industrial-grade equipment like a 3-ton bridge crane and iron-melting cupola. The department also integrates digital sculpting technologies through advanced 3D software and hardware tools.
