Our department provides a Bachelor of Arts program featuring studies in painting, sculpture, digital media, printmaking, art theory, and graphic design. Students begin with a rigorous foundations curriculum emphasizing compositional principles in both 2D and 3D applications. After completing these core courses, learners are urged to explore diverse media options within the department. The program fosters the development of a distinctive artistic perspective grounded in modern art-critical approaches and technical proficiency for creating impactful contemporary art. Students can further engage with the arts through internships and involvement with the Herman Maril Gallery, our student-operated exhibition space. They also gain hands-on experience organizing and curating shows featuring peer artwork.
The digital media specialization explores how modern artists employ digital tools to craft immersive, innovative works using various software applications. Beyond technical training, students examine digital art's role within the wider artistic landscape. The program emphasizes applying technical skills to create works with contemporary significance. Digital media courses introduce methods for integrating technology into fine arts practice.
