The Secondary World Languages concentration at the University of Maryland is a dynamic and expanding academic division. Part of the Teaching and Learning, Policy and Leadership Department within the College of Education, this program provides dual degrees and teaching credentials in World Languages Education, blending language studies with pedagogical training. The curriculum effectively integrates theoretical foundations, research methodologies, and practical applications through coursework and teaching practicums. A distinctive aspect involves how Second Language Education elements are creatively merged to equip students for adapting instructional approaches, resources, and programs to diverse cultural and linguistic environments both domestically and internationally. The program maintains accreditation at state and national levels.
