The University of Maryland's Social Studies Secondary Education program aims to prepare future 7th-12th grade educators who excel at: Guiding students to become active, knowledgeable citizens through critical analysis of history, government, and social sciences. Creating student-focused lessons using evidence-based methods, delivering effective instruction, and evaluating learning outcomes. Supporting diverse learners in multicultural classroom environments.
