The English Bachelor of Arts program comprises five core components that provide comprehensive instruction in critical methods for examining literature, rhetoric, and media, along with the forms and functions of the English language, plus writing theories and practices ranging from creative to professional domains. A key feature is the program's four specialized tracks, each focusing on distinct areas within English studies and their practical applications. Students select one track to develop expertise in their chosen field, enabling them to refine professional competencies and effectively communicate their abilities to potential employers. While encouraging specialization, the program's adaptable structure also supports interdisciplinary exploration, letting students cultivate broad knowledge across multiple disciplines. The curriculum delivers fundamental English studies training while creating avenues for cross-disciplinary learning, internship experiences, and educational opportunities extending beyond traditional classroom settings.
High school students and students with fewer than 12 semester hours or 18 quarter hours of university-level credit beyond secondary school should apply as freshman applicants.
