The Marine-Estuarine-Environmental Sciences (MEES) program aims to educate students pursuing careers in environmental science related to terrestrial, freshwater, marine, or estuarine ecosystems, offering both Ph.D. and M.S. degrees. This University System-wide, interdisciplinary initiative enables students to utilize resources and faculty expertise across the entire University System, crafting a customized academic path aligned with their specific interests. Specialization options encompass ecology, environmental chemistry, environmental molecular biology and biotechnology, environmental science, fisheries science, and oceanography. Participants can enroll in courses throughout the University System of Maryland and form advisory committees with faculty from multiple institutions, including the Center for Environmental and Estuarine Studies.
