This specialized program features a curriculum centered on atmospheric physics, offering research opportunities in remote sensing, atmospheric modeling, and climate dynamics. The Physics Department generally enrolls approximately 50 graduate students, with about two-thirds pursuing a Physics PhD and one-third in the Atmospheric Physics PhD track. Physics PhD candidates usually hold undergraduate degrees in physics or engineering, while Atmospheric Physics students typically have backgrounds in physics, engineering, or atmospheric science.
