A fast-track program that merges a Bachelor of Arts in Economics, a Bachelor of Science in Financial Economics, or any other UMBC undergraduate degree with a Master's in Economic Policy Analysis (a collaborative offering between the Economics Department and the School of Public Policy). The UMBC Economics Department provides diverse programs, allowing students to customize their academic journey. Options include majors in Economics or Financial Economics. Both the B.A. in Economics and B.S. in Financial Economics deliver a classic liberal arts and sciences education. These programs cultivate analytical thinking that enhances problem-solving skills, empowering students to systematically examine topics spanning economics, finance, politics, and broader life challenges. Students can pair their Economics or Financial Economics major with an Administrative Sciences certificate. The Administrative Sciences curriculum focuses on practical, skill-based coursework. While the economics and financial economics degrees foster creative and independent thought, the certificate programs build hands-on professional competencies. This dual approach prepares graduates to stand out in today's rapidly evolving job market.
