The Global Studies Program integrates multidisciplinary studies, international languages, and overseas education to enable comprehensive exploration of contemporary ecological, economic, cultural, ideological, and political challenges. By examining the origins of these global developments across different eras and regions, GLBL scholars analyze worldwide trends. Undergraduates in this program journey internationally to learn languages and cultural practices, while locally they investigate global-local connections and engage in diverse initiatives, from developing urban gardens to assisting refugee families settling in Baltimore. This major employs a dedicated academic advising system tailored for its expanding student body, differing from conventional faculty advising approaches used elsewhere in the university.
