Students considering the BA/MS HCC program should consult with a department advisor as early as their second year. Applications for the program should be submitted during the initial semester of junior year, following completion of 60 credits toward the BS degree. The Information Systems Department operates within UMBC's College of Engineering and Information Technology (COEIT). We provide diverse academic options including a B.A. in business technology administration, B.S. in information systems, combined B.S./M.S. programs, M.S. in information systems (available online), M.S. in human-centered computing, along with Ph.D. programs in both information systems and human-centered computing. Our curriculum focuses on teaching the development, application, and assessment of information technologies.
