The MA program integrates teaching and research in a curriculum designed to equip students for academic scholarship or professional careers. Our approach focuses on developing a comprehensive grasp of both historical and modern theories, essential research capabilities for knowledge exploration and creation, and practical application skills for use in public and private sectors. The Communication Master of Arts degree offers students a versatile foundation for pursuing doctoral studies or careers as communication experts. The Department of Communication and Journalism provides MA and PhD programs in Communication with two primary specializations: Communication and Media Studies. PhD candidates additionally select an external focus from disciplines including Business, English, History, Psychology, Women's Studies, Marine Sciences, and others. Both Communication and Media Studies pathways equip students with: a) thorough knowledge of historical and current theories, b) vital research competencies for knowledge advancement, and c) practical application abilities across diverse environments. All participants must show integrated comprehension of theory and research while demonstrating proficiency in analyzing literature relevant to their chosen field.
