The Graduate Certificate in Data Science and Engineering (GCDSE) requires 15 credit hours. Working with their advisor, students should avoid choosing courses that overlap with those completed during their undergraduate studies. If an elective course duplicates material from a previously taken class within any of the five core theme areas, students must choose a different course from that same area or select from another core theme, maintaining the requirement of 9 credits across three of the five Core Theme Areas.
This 15-credit graduate program offers both online and on-campus completion, serving as an ideal pathway for those exploring graduate education before committing to a full master's program. All certificate coursework can later be applied toward a master's degree if desired.
