At the MA level, students can focus on American, Canadian, European, or East Asian histories, along with specialized fields like environmental studies, labor movements, technological evolution, migration patterns, gender studies, global relations, mapmaking traditions, and spatial/digital methodologies. The PhD curriculum concentrates on American historical studies, Canada-U.S. relations (including borderland research), and global historical perspectives. Typically, PhD applicants should hold a History MA or equivalent qualification, though candidates with other relevant graduate degrees may also apply.
