Zoology students explore animal biology across various levels - from cellular and tissue structures to entire organisms. They investigate evolutionary processes, biodiversity contributions, and ecological relationships between species and their habitats. The zoology curriculum goes beyond existing knowledge, teaching research methodologies to expand our understanding of animals and address challenges in medicine, agriculture, and environmental science. Graduates can enter diverse fields including healthcare, research, education, environmental management, and consulting services. While both B.S. and B.A. degrees offer comprehensive animal biology training, the B.S. emphasizes quantitative sciences and attracts most students, preparing them for healthcare careers, advanced zoology studies, or technical professions. The B.A. degree integrates more social sciences and humanities, ideal for double majors or globally-focused students. Zoology B.S. candidates can specialize in Pre-Medical Studies, while both B.A. and B.S. students may choose an Ecology concentration. Neuroscience is available as a minor option for all zoology students.
