The Bachelor of Science in Sustainable Food Systems examines the complex network of processes from food production to consumption and waste management, along with the stakeholders involved and the various factors affecting or affected by these processes. The curriculum offers five specialized tracks: Climate Change and Food Systems, Food Processing and Innovation, Justice, Equity, and Community Development, Leadership and Management, and Plant and Animal Production Systems. Students may also design a custom concentration in Sustainable Food Systems.
The Leadership and Management track equips students with expertise in ethical leadership principles and their practical application to food system-related business and community initiatives. The program develops students' communication skills, global cultural awareness, and understanding of both national and international food policies.
